Download or install a Google Duo app from the Play Store. All you have to do is type duo.google.com At the top right corner you will see try duo for the web. Then you can directly go to a page to verify your number. Enter your number and you will get a verification code on your smartphone. And then the process is the same as for the smartphone.

Knock-knock is the feature on the Google Duo where the other person can see the live video of you while the device rings if they have you as a contact.
