Xiaomi Mi8 Lite: Specs and Comparison with Mi8

Release date: 6th January, 2019

The Chinese brand Xiaomi has been customer’s favorite phone choice in the global market with the best value for money, specs, and quality. With the great hit in last years’ Xiaomi MI A1, A2, A2 lite and Mi8, the company has now launched the brand new Xiaomi Mi8 lite on 6th Jan 2019. With the price of $229.99, this new Mi8 lite model can be considered a successor to Mi8 with pretty much the same features but at a deducted price.

With the fusion of MiA2’s performance and Note 6 pro’s display and camera, Mi8 is the perfect gadget for the current tech market. Sharing a lot of similarities with Mi8, this new model now features a glass black set, unlike other Xiaomi phones which is pretty much what you expect from a smartphone. With a display of 6.26” IPS LCD, 1080p, 19:9 ratio and the chrome colored aluminum frame, the phone looks magnificently radiant.

It comes with a type C port which enables fast charging, dual GSM sim feature, 12 MP rear and 5 MP front camera with 24MP Sony IMX576 sensor for magnificent picture capturing and video recording. With a single bottom fired speaker, the phone can get pretty loud, running a good score in the loudness test. Since the phone doesn’t have an audio jack, luckily it includes an adaptor in the box. Headphones are good with loud volume and decent overall performance.

Mi8 lite runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with custom MIUI on top with gestures function similar to that of an IOS. With the Octa-core (2.2 GHz, Quad core, Kryo 260 + 1.8 GHz, Quad-core, Kryo 260) processor, Snapdragon 660 chipset and 4 GB RAM Mi8 lite benchmark the performance quite well while gaming mode and other usual actions expected of the smartphone. However, the phone has an average battery with 3350 mAh with an endurance of 77hr in the battery test.
